This leadership contest is all about just that - leadership.
We just lost, badly. To win back the trust of the British people and win in 2029, we need to do things differently, and we need to start now.
We have a simple choice. We can turn a page, or we can accept more of the same.
Tom is the only candidate who can deliver the change our Party needs and ensure we don’t find ourselves back here in five years time.
We know that because he has proved it time and time again. In the military, he served our country abroad, leading large teams and complex missions. In Parliament, he spoke up about foreign threats from Russia, China and Iran - and has been sanctioned by all three as a result.
In Government, more Russian and Chinese spies were arrested and charged while he was Security Minister than in the previous decade.
Over and over Tom has shown he is a man of conviction and that he doesn’t just speak, but acts on Conservative principles.
He refused to back national insurance rises because they broke a manifesto commitment, and he rebelled against vaccine passports on principle.
Our new leader needs that type of conviction. The party and the country are crying out for a new approach, and we know that with the right and disciplined leadership the Conservative party can once again return to serve the British people.
